THE CO-OP GROUP APPOINTS CFO
The Co-op Group has appointed a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) that will play a vital role in providing financial leadership and aligning the finance strategy to grow The Co-op.
Rikus Vorster has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer and commenced duties on 7 March 2022. He completed his professional training and Articles at Deloitte and served as Chief Financial Officer of Deloitte West Africa and Co-Director of Deloitte Africa Finance. As an experienced Financial Professional and Chartered Accountant (SA), Rikus held the position of Financial Director of G4S in Botswana before joining DigiBlu as CFO.
He has been responsible for the restructuring of businesses, raising capital and being involved in various projects across Africa. This is in line with The Co-op’s long-term strategy, as well as the objective to unlock future potential with the relevant financial partners.
We value regular evaluation of our business and financial strategy, as well as ideas and solutions to address challenges that may arise from the economic environment.
The CFO appointee will be specifically focused on sustaining the relationship with financial and economic stakeholders. He will soon graduate with an MCom (Finance) from the University of Cape Town.
